"Thank you for your help in fitting
this, my first ball gown. I'm excited about it, and looking forward to wearing
the completed gown to the Harvest Ball in Racine, WI. You know, don't you that
once the Battery G ladies discovered Kaufmann's Emporium at Boscobel, it's the
first Sutler they look for at every re-enactment? We enjoy visiting with the two
of you as much as buying things!"
to my talented tailors!
Just a note to tell you what a wonderful time
I had on Sunday in my beautiful clothes! I had no idea I would be purchasing something
so grand that day, but it's exactly what I wanted."
"Good Morning Brian,
purpose of this e-mail is to let you know how absolutely delighted I am with the
belt you created with me in mind. It suits me, and you are getting a great deal
of good press as a result of it! I wore it both days at Marengo this weekend past.
I cannot begin to tell you how many people commented on its beauty. I, of course,
was quick to tell them you created it and that Mom's favorite flower was the rose
and you adorned them with tiny pearls, which represent tears in 1860 mourning.
It is no accident that this is also the birthstone of Mother and me, as I was
born on her birthday June 29th. The frogs are so delicate and lovely. I can't
thank you enough for adding a new and exciting dimension to my second stage of
mourning! I will always be grateful for your sensitivity, creativity and generosity.
You and Rick are very special friends we are honored to know. We look forward
to seeing you soon. Stay well and God Bless! Affectionately,
Mrs. Jo Ellen
